hi everyone! my name is Haddiyyah Ali and I am a 19 (going on 20) year old student and social justice organizer at the University of Connecticut. I double major Political Science and Africana Studies with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and hope to be a lawyer one day.
the name “bombblackhijabi” is inspired by hashtag movement started by @safuratumbles and @afrohijab where black muslim women posted selfies being their bomb black hijabi selves. the images of these women were incredibly inspiring and empowering as we seek to embrace our whole selves with all intersecting identities regardless of the hyphens that others try to impose on us. I live, write, study, and speak from an intersectional lens and all content on this blog will reflect that lens.
